Everything has been going well for Lexi. She is returning to more and more of herself every day. The little monkey is keeping us on our toes. If I'm not posting regular updates, that likely means everything is going well and I have no time to write.
Last weekend, we attended the egg hunt at Shawn's work. Annie got a good haul of eggs. Lexi participated a little, and they also had a special basket set aside for her. Other then being extremely cold and windy, and did I mention cold and windy, it was a fun day.
On Monday at clinic, there was no fighting, no screaming and no tears for tubie! Hope it goes as well from now on. After her LP, she woke up before the half hour "must stay horizontal" limit was up, she she just stayed laying down watching TV. She was a champ!
Tuesday I got a call from clinic with "a fun question." They offered us tickets to go see the circus at the PPL center on Thursday night. They had been donated through Angel 34. We got to sit in a block of other familys. It was originally supose to be the family: me, Shawn, Lexi, and Annie. Of course, at 5pm that night, Annie woke up from her nap with a fever. So Shawn and Annie stayed home, and we took Sara and Kimmy instead. Lexi and Kimmy had so much fun! We went early, so we got go down for the pre-show. A great time was had by all.
On Friday, at occupational therapy, Lexi had a great time with her sub therapist. She got to build with blocks, play with silly putty, and play in a hammock. The OT was hoping to get Lexi to play in the hammock for maybe 5 minutes. Lexi was in it closer to 10, and she only got out because our time was up! The OT said Lexi blew away all of her expectations of her. She has last seen Lexi when Lexi was at PT and playing with a boy in for OT. At the time Lexi was very timid, weak and reserved. Not Anymore!! While waiting for the OT to set up the hammock, Lexi dragged me over to the trampoline and jumped on it a bit. I know she loves trampolines, and she tried our first week of PT, but couldn't do it. She did amazing this time!
Today, of course, was Easter. We had a great day. We stopped by Christine's house on the way to Aunt Effie & Uncle Roy's. So Lexi got to play with Addie for a few minutes while the Mommies talked and I gave Christine her newbie outfit(hand made embroidered onesie, headband, and tutu). Then, when we got to go to Easter and Lexi got to play with all of her cousins. She also helped me hand out my other weeks project. Between Tuesday and Saturday I made 12 new hats to be distributed among the cousins. All of the hats were embroidered with a gold ribbon and "for Lexi". I thought it was important for Lexi to give the hats to her cousins, that way hats are more "normal" and she isn't the only one with hats. I also needed to spend some time doing something I like to do. Best of all, they are cheap and easy to make!
Of course, we had the normal Easter egg hunt. This was a totally different experience from last weekend. First of all, not cold and windy. That was much better. But rather then picking up only 6 eggs that she pointed out to Shawn to bring her, Lexi was able to walk around the lawn and pick up eggs. So much progress in such a short time. She continues to amaze me. It was also great to see family and for the family to see Lexi. We got lots of words of support and encouragement, and everyone was happy to see just how well Lexi is doing.
Tomorrow, Monday, we go to clinic for another LP. This is her last week of the current phase. They expect her blood count numbers to have dropped, so she may need a transfusion, but we won't know until we get there. After this week, we won't know for sure when the next phase is starting until it starts, as we will have to make sure her numbers are high enough. This coming Saturday, we will have yet another egg hunt, sponsored again by Angel 34. Can't wait to see how Lexi does this time! And clearly, we need more candy in the house (insert sarcasm here).

I'm glad to hear that everyone's doing okay. And it seems like you have enough eggs and candy to last the whole year!
