Day 5

Lexi is much more active and mobile today.  She was allowed to be disconnected from the monitors, giving her more freedom of movement around her room.  She got to eat her breakfast sitting in a chair, and then snuggle on the couch and color with Mommy. She's got a bit of a cough that is bothering her, but they are working to see if there is anything they can do to help it.

Then comes a special thanks to Laura.  She came and sat with Lexi for a few hours, and arranged for a sitter for Annie.  So Shawn and I got to have a nice lunch and go shopping together and talk...and talk... and talk.  It was the first time we had more than an hour together, and the first time being truly alone since this all began.  The fact that it was Valentines day didn't hurt either.

Lexi's legs are still bothering her, but they got her up and moving a bit today.  She walked a bit with Laura in the afternoon and again with Shawn in the evening.  She does have good motivation in her room. This is the view from her bed:

She gets the awesome room with a view of the hall fish tank from in her room! I believe hers is the room like this. The other view from her room provides, unfortunately too frequent, reminders that things could be much worse.  At least Lexi likes watching them come and go.

And two more pictures tonight.  Lexi sitting on the couch this morning.  And Tesla Teddy getting ready for surgery with her on Tuesday afternoon.
